Zeus' brothers and sisters had all been eaten up by Kronos due to him being scared that one day they would overthrow him to the throne of the world. Rhea felt sorry for her children and replaced Zeus with a stone wrapped in clothes, which Kronos ate. Zeus was bought up by his grand-mother, Gaea on the island of Crete. When he was of age, she devised a potion which Zeus gave to Kronos to spit all his brothers and sisters out. The First Olympian Gods, and the Titans decided to have a war under the judgement of the older gods. The war was called the Titanomachy, which lasted for a 100 years.
